Features
Here are the reasons why?
- Reference class closed-back audiophile headphones
- Closed-back earcups
- 56mm ring radiator transducers
- German craftsmanship
- Detachable cable

Completely closed. Outrageously open.
The HD 820 fuses our cutting-edge transducer capabilities with exceptional ambient noise attenuation, transcending the perceived limits of closed headphones.
Until now, audiophile-grade sound meant open-back designs like Sennheiser’s—famous for surpassing even large hi-fi systems. The HD 820 changes that, delivering immersive detail and soundstage in a closed-back headphone.

Reflecting within
A closed back headphone able to produce the wide, natural sound field of an open one requires rethinking the directional characteristics of sound waves.

Fellowship of the Ring
An achievement in its own right, the 56mm ring radiator found in the HD 820 leverages the key benefit of a large diaphragm transducer—air displacement—without losing the rigidity that favorably impacts rest and response times.
Both inner and outer edges of the ring are secured to the drive unit, with the voice coil vibrating the diaphragm via a V-shaped groove near its center. A vibration-damping chassis and inert headband ensure stability, delivering precise, fast response across all frequencies. Each transducer is tightly tested for consistent, dependable performance.

Exhaustive engineering
The deep, almost magical stereo imaging of the HD 820 is the sum of the exhaustive engineering poured into it.
Developed in Germany and built in Ireland, the HD 820 pairs premium craftsmanship with exceptional sound. Its angled ring radiator driver reveals voices and instruments with striking realism, while plush ear padding and smart articulation ensure a perfect seal. Ideal for both critical and private listening, it keeps sound in—and distractions out.

An Ergonomic Treat
The HD 820 delivers on long-term wearing comfort too, providing a listening experience as plush as it is immersive.
Ultra-soft padding and lightweight composites minimize pressure, while dual-axis earcups adapt to your head for effortless comfort—letting you focus fully on hi-fidelity sound.

It's all about connection
As a centerpiece of your constantly evolving rig, your go-to headphones should offer the versatility to listen on your terms.
Your HD 820 adapts to any setup with essential low-capacitance, impedance-matched cables. It includes a 6.3mm plug for standard hi-fi gear and a 4.4mm balanced connector for modern devices. An optional XLR-4 cable adds even more flexibility. Each 3m cable gives you freedom to listen comfortably, wherever your gear is.
